Beeswax is a natural raw material produced in beehives. When the worker bee reaches a certain age, it develops wax glands in the abdomen. These glands produce very fine “wax scales” that emerge from between the abdomen rings. Fresh beeswax is transparent and colorless. It develops its golden color through contact with pollen and honey. The wax scales allow the construction of the honeycomb in the hive and is used to cap the cells filled with honey. Beeswax absolute is extracted from the stripped honeycomb or from cakes of wax through the use of solvents.

    Johannes Maringer

Blends perfectly with the tobacco, leathery, flowery, balsamic as well as animalic facet. It not only connects the notes but also adds a pronounced luxurious feel when used in low to medium quantities. A must if you like to create oriental style fragrances. Qualitywise it won’t get any better than that!

I can rock with this. Actually gives off a slightly boozy vibe – not bourbon boozy but more molasses, rum aging boozy. The quality is above reproach.

Waxy, spicy, sweet, ambery, and flowery. Super unique. Also, it is liquid, which makes it super easy to work with. It will be a good accompaniment for some fruity floral things like osmanthus.

    Raffaello Sapere

Absolutely wonderful! You would expect a sweet and honeyed olfactory profile, instead it’s a delicious mix of tobacco, spices and dried fruit. Very good for giving body and base to gourmand perfumes.

The fragrant burns clean and freshness that lasts. This is the best aroma of all times. I highly recommend.

One of those essential materials for perfumery and a personal favorite. As mentioned by others, it immediately evokes tobacco and musk; an essential ingredient to any ‘true’ honey accord. Becomes fairly solid when stored in refrigerator temps and is very easy to work with.

On the vegetal, carotenoid, musky side of beeswax, very reminiscent of bee pollen granules. Excellent for “bee soliflore” compositions.
