Successfully gives an oud ‘vibe’ but I’m a little disappointed because it’s smells a little too much like Black Agar Givco 215/2. To be honest it smells about equal to my own ‘oud’ creations in which I use Black Agar, other oud AC’s, musk, and animalic AC’s. Don’t get me wrong, it smells good and definitely works as an oud note. In fact I recommend it!, but I guess I was expecting something more authentic to real oud for some reason.

I wholly disagree with the previous review, Oud Maleki to Black agar Givco is like apples to oranges. Maleki is very close to real oud with the barnyard and fecal facets even more than Samrat (of which is closer to cashmeran despite containing more assafi). For the price Oud Maleki is good value and this type of material can be a gateway to you trying real oud in your fragrances.

An amazing product. Just enough barnyard, but not too much to make it unpleasant.

I get the Black Agar note too. Makes sense since black agar is an oud AC. Oud can really vary depending on origin and growing conditions. This one smells like some oud I own, so I’d say, ‘Yup!’, try it in your formula. Use it in your formula!
