I love Synarome bases. No one does ‘animal’ like Synarome : ) Ambrarome is, for me, one of the more challenging bases to work with. It’s really powerful! I get a punch of leathery castoreum, labdanum and vanilla notes without all the sweetness. I asked a friend to smell it and I can’t repeat what they said it reminded them of. If you are looking for a dirty animal note, this is definitely a possibility.

Leathery, slightly fecal note somewhat reminiscent of more animalic ambergris types. More powerful but not quite as long lasting as other labdanum materials. Could be very useful for oud notes.

Another material I love. It is animal, and I do smell the ambergris, but its more like rut than ambergris to my nose. Its a very sweet smell to me also. sweet, leathery, dirty animal- edge of castoreum – a hay like quality, and some tobacco tones. It has the same sort of quality to the scent as roasting cocoa beans- its a richness, and a soft brown feeling in the mind with warmth. very sensual.

Absolutely beautiful material. I do get the amber/animal vibe, but so much more. Deep coffee and cocoa. Smoky labdanum and tobacco absolute. Rich and sweet dried fruits. Versatile in many blends, but especially with woods, incense accords, and narcotic florals (I like this very much with tuberose).

A must material for me in creating dry, animalic amber base. Exceptionally beautiful and works really well with tobacco accord too!

Every perfumer should have this in their organ. Even those who shy away from animalics can find a reason to incorporate this. Blends beautifully with labdanum and other ambers.

Absolutely gorgeous, powerful product- compliments nearly anything; right now I’ve got just the tiniest amount sitting with some spiced Damascus rose and it’s simply addictive. The initial blast of Labdanum/sweet castoreum is downright nasty, it sits just on the edge of “too much” animal in the most perfect way. Extremely good value for such a potent product.
