I have just had the opportunity to start working with this and I love how it has enhanced the wood part of my woodsmoke accord. It’s lovely and I am finding it very easy to work with… It seems to fit well with every mini formulation experiment I perform with it. It also performs better than I imagined it might – straight out of the bottle I initially thought in might need to use more than I actually had to so I was pleased with its performance and tenacity. According to Firmenich it even has cosmetic properties (antimicrobial and skin soothing properties) but I have not tested it out as part of any kind of skincare formulation yet. This strikes me as a material that would be extremely useful and that would have broad appeal. Even on its own it is really pleasant and warm and it does have a creamy facet. I feel like I can appreciate this material best when I’m actually smelling Dreamwood’s performance throughout the drydown when it has been blended into a perfume – and it does last very well.

I have about 20 Sandalwoods both natural and synthetic and this is the one I just always come back to. It is absolutely beautiful; lovely, warm, creamy, natural smelling Sandalwood that lasts for ages. Like another reviewer said, if you only want to buy one sandalwood base, buy this. I honestly think that at this price, it is a steal.

Received a sample of this recently and have been coming back to use this in a recent formulation. I will say it works very effectively at a 10% dilution. Extremely well balanced. Has a great base of cream, wood, and a sweet accord that brings it out to life. Will only be using this sandalwood substitute from now and on for the future.
