IMO far and away the best of the methyl jasmonates. The Bedoukian is rich, deep, and smells clearly of being the key component of much of the character of Jasmine Absolute. It is also useful used as the only Jasmine-type AC in a composition as a modifier, as well as for fuller synthetic jasmine treatments.

Despite the theory supposedly being that more epi means more odor intensity and greater jasmine quality, and Splendione (now being discontinued I hear) and Zeppin being higher in epi and so theoretically you’d think them better, to me and others I have discussed it with they seem faint and of little character. The Bedoukian has plenty of odor strength and great character and absolutely blows them away.

I’ve noticed that natural sandalwood EO (Santalum album) pairs extremely well with some Methyl Jasmonate. MJ boosts the creamy facets of sandalwood in a very voluptuous, elegant and attractive way without being ordinary or cheap.

Wonderful material, incredibly useful to add naturalistic, petally warmth and sweetness to floral compositions. The heart of many white florals.

Wonderful material. Has a warmer, sweeter, slightly more musky floralcy aspect than the slightly fruitier Zeppin. Incredible stuff.
