This material is as dreamy as you could hope. Ethereal patchouli with great diffusion and movement. Easy to dose, high impact material. Overdoses could be very interesting. Loads of potential. Blend this with some L-Muscone and some Muscenone for a little slice of heaven.

An absolutely devine odorant: the deep-sweet, powdery-camphoraceous mysterious heart of patchouli. In no way offensive, but softly intense, diffusive and extremely tenacious.
Contrary to statements in the literature that the solubily of patchoulol is around 2 % in ethanol, which must be due to impure samples, this bright white, microcrystalline patchoulol from Ventos is easily soluble at 25 % in absolute alcohol, giving a water-clear solution that should be one of any perfumers most precious items.

A very interesting and useful abstraction of patchouli. Whereas patchouli oils and hearts tend to have a distinctly warm-woodiness, patchoulol leans much more in the “cooling” direction–the camphoraceous, cold-trigeminal effect is present, and it allows for a unique direction of patchouli type fragrances, more into the deeper, cold-wet-earth direction, and bridging well with bracing citrics and other cooling accords. Dosage here takes a bit of care.

Very nice version of patchouli. Very clean but still intensive.

One of the most useful woody aroma chems. Patchouli without any of the resinous or earthy qualities. Imagine Clearwood but “clearer”. I find Clearwood has a little bit of an unpleasant cardboard dry-down, whereas Patchoulol is pure clean sharp woods, all the way through. Super diffusive. Massively useful in pretty much any formula. In low dosages it can add a little bit of a woody sparkle/dryness, and in higher doses gives an obvious Patchouli feel in the most pure, simple form.

Clean patchouli isolate that is very shimmery compared to the oils, it is also very forgiving when dosing in my experience.

Very clean patchouli note, it doesn’t get any cleaner than this. I think this is an essential and very versatile component that can be used to instill an impactful patchouli vibe to any fragrance without adding all of the dirty notes, or to build a very custom patchouli accord, the possibilities are unlimited. This is a great material to have in your Perfumer’s organ! Highly recommend!
