Oh WOWWW! THIS is GORGEOUS! I was expecting pine floor cleaner. Oh no. No no no. THIS is a besutiful subtle pine aroma with a balsamic feel. Its like standing amongst a pine forest that overlooks the beach on a cold day. Definitely a marine type quality to it. I could see this work beautifully with fir balsam absolute, seaweed absolute in tiny traces, cascalone, peru balsam oliffac and sime light florals in the background. This oozes masculinity and is so fresh and clean. Just gorgeous. I got this as a sample but im DEFINITELY going to order this one for my aquatic/marine sketches. This would work well in Christmas themed fragrances too. I love it. I hope Christine keeps this one. What a gem!

I have fallen in love with pino acetaldehyde. It is a wonderful aldehyde for contributing to fresh, aquatic, and marine accords. It works very well with peppermint, mintonat, & para cresyl methyl ether for creating shower gel type notes for instance. Pino acetaldehyde is less aquatic than intreleven aldehyde but can be used in similar ways. Perfumer’s Apprentice recommends aldehyde supra as a replacement for intreleven aldehyde but I am starting to see how pino acetaldehyde is a much closer replacement as far as an aldehyde useful for marine formulas in particular. Aldehyde supra has elements of lavender and mandarin aldehyde. Overall pino acetaldehyde is one of the aldehydes I reach for most commonly. It also works well with patchouli, pine, cedar, sandal, jasmine, clary sage, muguet, lavender, apple, bergamot, and other marine materials such as helional.
