Description

Odor Description/Information from Paul Kiler (creator)

(Note this material contains synthetics)

PK Vanilla Absolute replacer is a molecular reconstruction of Vanilla Absolute, starting with a vanilla bean tincture, and adding in the many aspects of the real absolute, the fruity, and phenolic, and spicy aspects, and bringing up the vanillin content, the vanillic molecular materials, etc.  Many difficult to obtain molecules, all that are found in a GC-MS analysis of real vanilla absolute, were employed to match the real vanilla absolute extremely faithfully.

When I first thought about buying a replacer for my own perfumes, I bought so many replacers, from so many suppliers.  Everything that I found was inadequate to the task, so I endeavored to make my own perfect replacer.  It is not inexpensive to make, but until the cost of real vanilla comes back down, this is a very cost competitive and odor realistic solution /substitution.  I perceive it to be similar to a 50% alcoholic dilution of Vanilla Absolute.

It does not employ any vanilla oleoresin, which I found not to be adequate, or odor capable to work with for a vanilla replacer.  I cannot recommend using Vanilla Oleoresin for a substitute, or even a portion of a substitute where the finest results are needed.

Strong creamy vanilla, smells like I walked into a gourmet ice cream shoppe. Wonderful and cost effective solution to your vanilla problems.

This is THE vanilla base you’ve been searching for. Pat yourself on the back because after months or trying to balance the phenolic, fruity and lactonic aspects by yourself – moving on to trying ‘to good to be true’ priced essential oils from shady sources, you’ve landed at the holy grail of Vanilla!

Get the smallest size, you can thank me later because once you do- you’ll immediately place an order for the largest size your budget can afford!

This is very well made! It smells like vanilla extract. It is like going into an ice cream shop with vanilla front and center. I used a small amount in a solid perfume base and it smells amazing. My mom loves it as it reminds her of being young when she’s eat vanilla extract mixed with sugar! I prefer vanilla bean scents that smell like real vanilla beans over the overly synthetic smelling vanillas. This is one of the only ways to get that true vanilla scent at a cheaper price.

PK Perfumes has done something really special with this base as well. Comparing it side to side with vanilla absolute, there’s really not much of a difference. I have yet to use it in a composition so I will have to wait and see how it performs, but I have no doubt it’ll be amazing.

a wonderful material, to me it does not resemble an absolute rather smells more like a tincture of real nice vanilla .. great stuff highly recommended.

I am comparing this to my vanilla absolute 50% from PA and I really do much prefer the absolute. Its also the same price if you take into account that Paul says this stuff is similar to a 50% absolute in strength. The replacer has a great deep rich vanilla scent but there is something unpleasantly artificial smelling that keeps jumping to the forefront and ruining the experience for me. I am clearly in the minority here, and this is probably something more unique about my nose in particular. Nevertheless, for the same price, I’d just buy the absolute.
