In my humble opinion the finest rose replacer in the market. To my nose it’s a beautifully synergised mixture of natural isolates and synthetics that is incredibly complex and covers most of the different facets of a fine rose very nicely. It doesn’t have the exact scent profile of a rose absolute or otto however in a composition it could be used alone as rose replacer as it portrays a rose far better than anything currently available in the market( Dorina SA, SAE, Rose Givco). Another area where it shines is how it exalts a composition that has natural rose otto or absolute and how it smoothens any sharp jagged raspy notes without modifying the desired delicate natural rose notes too much. Absolutely amazing stuff!

This is a wonderful reconstruction of May rose absolute. Smooth, natural, rich, clean, beautiful.

This is absolutely the best rose de mai replacer available. When Chanel couldn’t maintain their high levels of rose de mai in Chanel No. 5, they replaced most of it with Wardia with touches of real rose de mai absolute as a naturaliser. The price is high but so is the quality. Interestingly no one knows the name of the perfumer who created Wardia – it is now long lost in the mists of history.

You can simply dissolve some Wardia in alcohol and carry it with you.
Yes, it just smells of roses…
But to me it’s much more mind-refreshing and satisfying than many expensive fragrances from the department store.
And I think many people would feel the same way. At least those capable of enjoying the smell of a rose.

A very natural smelling rose absolute type base. It is fresh, soft (like phenyl ethyl alchohol) and also quite spicy (a eugenol/clove type spiciness). It is not the intense, fruity, honeyed, metallic profile of a rose otto type base (like Rose Givco or Firmenich Rosessence). There is no “synthetic” feeling of strong damascones or muguet type materials in this base. It is very classic (you might even say “old-fashioned”), natural and elegant.
I don’t find it particularly long lasting. It seems to work as more of a top and middle note and is deceptively strong. Quite small amounts can be very perceptible in a formula.
Not cheap, but I feel it offers good value for money and is extremely useful and versatile.

I am in agreement with the other reviews. It is a lovely smelling rose that is soft and round. Can stand alone.

WOW! It smells like the absolute, with a bit of a solvent note, but it blooms in alcohol. This is a no-brainer for anyone who can’t, like me, afford Rose de Mai.

I have many (small amounts) rose abs , rose co2, 1 rose Otto, 2 robertet rose products, and this does not remind me of one of them. What this is for me: long stemmed roses in the florist shop. When rides had a smell : they also smelled green, and of roses. This smells just like that! Perfect, so very different.

WOW! One of the best rose abs replacement you could find, working well in every formula needed a rose. Greenish, metallic, yet potent in rose facet.

This material is wonderful, it is much more real, elegant, and transparent than Rose Givco, less sweet but slightly honeyed . It is a good alternative to replace the absolute.

wonderful scent

A beautifully soft, complex and complete rose. One of the best rose bases on the market, bar none.

It really does smell like rosa damascena. Fabulous and a little goes a long way!
