Description/Information – Fixative bases are a bit optimistic, many times. Most of the time, it’s better to try to build a perfume to last well, without employing a fixative base. Nonetheless, there are occasions where a fixative base may be employed to positive results.
There are other Fixative bases out there, Fixateur 505 might be one of the most well known, but it definitely has it’s own odor profile. My solution here was to change away from the common ambery fixative value odor profile, and to reduce the content of what is so often used as a fixative, Benzyl benzoate.
This PK Fixative base employs extremely large molecules, (some are uncommon in the perfume labs), that have a bit of a very quiet freshness to them. So this base would work well for many common scents that already lack longevity: freshies, citrus’, and summery scents that need a boost to last better. But still, is rather very quiet in it’s odor profile, not meaning to unduly influence the perfume concentrate it is added to.
