Lavandula Hybrida
Fresh, lavender, herbaceous
When two plants cross pollinate the results are hybrid plants. The hybrids of Lavender plants are called a “Lavandin.”
The two main species Lavandula angustifolia (Lavender)and Lavandula latifolia (Spike Lavender) were crossed to create Lavandin. Lavandin essential oil was originally designed to be used to extend Lavender Oil, but has developed as a quality oil in its own right. This oil contains more CAMPHOR than Lavender, however the Spanish (Ventos) quality contains less camphor than usual, making it smoother and sweeter than others.

Susan Farber –
This oil is much nicer than other Lavandin oils that I have smelled. It is crisp, fresh, and uplifting and far less camphoraceous. I could see using it in aromatherapy products, such as body washes, bath salts, and diffuser blends.
