I’m so happy I can now get Muscenone from Perfumer Supply House (the only supplier I could previously find had a 1kg MOQ). This is one of my favourite musks. It’s versatile, elegant and I tend to use it as the backbone in a lot of my ‘white’ musk accords. I love it!

Oh so happy to be able to get this material in smaller quantities. IMO it is a necessity to have this musk in your arsenal. Has an old nitro quality to it and to me , is indispensable … highly recommended.

A very good alternative to the heavily restricted musk ketone. It has a very elegant, classic nitro musk like character.

A very elegant and sophisticated musk with good diffusion. For me, it’s very easy to smell and doesn’t seem to cause olfactory fatigue as easily as other musks do. I find it dry, warm-animalic and slightly powdery, with a hard edge that makes it a good replacer for musk ketone. It doesn’t have the incredible longevity of musk ketone, but that is not necessarily a bad thing. It does its work throughout the evaporation of the perfume and then disappears elegantly.

It is similar to musk ketone indeed. It also seems to be different and more potent than L-muscone.

fragrance of much finished in luxurious powder, an elegant aura, although I feel it more of the feminine side for its softness could easily work for a masculine one, its volatility is high and its monstrous fixation, I have it to 10% alcoholic solution and in strip of smell It takes three days and still follows its characteristic smell of dust, even more than musket ketone. Highly recommended.

I find the animalic aspects of this to be quite tame and agreeable for a wide variety of uses but it lends a certain soapy quality as well that I find to be an excellent bridge between clean and heavy notes, really indispensable and truly happy it’s here.
